New Innovate UK Grant Funding Competitions

Innovate UK have recently launched a number of new funding competitions to help tackle industry challenges ranging from robotics to cyber security.

A selection of the current funding competitions are outlined below, the full list can be found on the Innovate UK website.


Electronics, sensors and photonics for robotics in extreme environments

UK businesses can apply for a share of up to £2 million to develop reliable extreme environment grade electronics, sensors and photonics for robotics and AI systems.

March expression of interest: UK Aerospace Research and Technology

The UK Aerospace Research and Technology Programme provides grant funding to industrial research and capital projects to encourage innovation in UK civil aerospace.

Analysis for innovators round 4 expression of interest

UK businesses can apply for a share of up to £4 million to work with the best scientists and research facilities to resolve productivity and competitiveness issues.

Demonstrators addressing cyber security challenges in the Internet of Things

UK businesses can apply for a share of up to £6 million for collaborative R&D projects addressing major cyber security challenges in the Internet of Things.

Innovate UK Smart Grants: February 2019

Opportunity to apply for a share of up to £20 million to deliver ambitious or disruptive R&D innovations with significant potential for impact on the UK economy.

Developing digital roads and improving air quality (development or pilot only, 1 phase) : SBRI competition

Highways England is funding 2 parallel competitions for solutions and ideas designed for use on UK roads. This competition is for proven feasibility projects at development stage (higher TRL).

Digital health technology catalyst round 4: collaborative R&D

UK businesses can apply for a share of up to £5 million to develop new digital health solutions. Projects can use the services of the NICE DataLab to help with real world data.
