New Innovate UK Grant Funding Competitions

Innovate UK have recently launched a number of new funding competitions to help tackle industry challenges ranging from sorting nuclear waste to psychological therapies.

A selection of the current funding competitions are outlined below, the full list can be found on the Innovate UK website.

Sort and segregate nuclear waste: phase 1 (SBRI competition)

Organisations can apply for a share of £3.9 million, including VAT, to develop an autonomous, integrated toolkit to sort and segregate nuclear waste.

ISCF Transforming foundation industries: Building a resilient recovery

UK registered businesses can apply for a share of £8 million in grant funding for projects supporting recovery and growth of the UK’s foundation industries.

Competition opens: Monday 3 August 2020
Competition closes: Wednesday 4 November 2020 11:00am


The Sustainable Innovation Fund: round 2 (de minimis)

UK registered businesses can apply for a share of up to £26 million for new projects focusing on sustainable economic recovery from COVID-19. This funding is from Innovate UK.

Competition closes: Wednesday 2 September 2020 11:00am


Biomedical Catalyst 2020: round 1, early and late stage awards

UK registered SMEs can apply for a share of up to £30 million to develop a product or process that is an innovative solution to a health and care challenge.

Competition opens: Monday 27 July 2020
Competition closes: Wednesday 7 October 2020 11:00am


Using digital technology to support psychological therapies (SBRI competition)

Organisations can apply for a share of up to £345,000 (including VAT) to develop new solutions using digital technology to provide psychological support.
